  • You train them on all aspects of their job
  • You tell them when to work
  • You tell them where to work
  • You give them specific instructions on how to do the work
  • You reimburse all of their business expenses
  • You provide their tools, equipment, and supplies

  • They work with little or no direction or training
  • They set their own hours
  • They are available to work for other organizations
  • You have a services contract
  • You reimburse them only for expenses agreed upon in service contract
  • They provide their own tools, equipment, and supplies
  • They send you invoices for work performed
